1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “user”) and CapitalMap (“CapitalMap”, “we”, “us”) governing access to and use of the CapitalMap website, applications, and related services (the “Service”).
By creating an account, signing in, using the tracker as a guest, creating a Google Spreadsheet Vault, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What CapitalMap is — and is not
CapitalMap is a personal wealth tracking and visualisation tool. It is designed to help you organise and view financial information that you choose to enter or connect. It is not a bank, broker, custodian, payment service, credit rating agency, or registered investment adviser. The Service is presently offered in an initial / early-access phase and may contain defects or incomplete features (see Section 9 of these Terms).
CapitalMap is not and does not provide:
- banking, custodial, brokerage, payment, remittance, or lending services;
- investment advice, portfolio management, tax advice, accounting services, legal advice, or insurance advice;
- a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or dispose of any security, cryptoasset, property, or other instrument;
- a credit score, underwriting decision, or regulated financial statement for third parties;
- a guarantee of net worth, returns, liquidity, tax treatment, or financial outcomes.
Any charts, totals, percentages, “insights”, status labels, projections, or similar displays are informational calculations only, generated from user-supplied or user-connected data, and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract to use the Service. You represent that you will use the Service only for lawful personal purposes and in compliance with applicable law (including securities, tax, and data-protection laws that apply to you).
4. Accounts, Google access, and your Vault
4.1 Google sign-in
Access requires a Google account and your grant of permissions we request (including Google Sheets access where needed). You are responsible for the security of your Google account and for any activity under your CapitalMap session.
4.2 Your Spreadsheet Vault
Financial records are intended to reside primarily in a Google Spreadsheet that you create or create (“Vault”). You own and control that Spreadsheet subject to Google’s terms. You authorise CapitalMap to access, read, write, and organise data in the Vault solely to provide the Service.
4.3 Processing is required to show your data
To display dashboards and sync changes, our systems must process Vault contents with your authorisation. Temporary processing, transmission, and local/device caching may occur. The Service is not marketed under these Terms as a cryptographic zero-knowledge vault. Do not rely on marketing phrases as technical or legal warranties.
4.4 Your responsibility for data quality
You are solely responsible for:
- the accuracy, legality, and completeness of data you enter or import;
- deciding what to store in your Vault and who can access your Google Spreadsheet;
- backing up your Spreadsheet and Google Drive contents;
- verifying any figure before relying on it for personal, tax, lending, or investment decisions.
4.5 Guest / browser-only tracking
You may use parts of the Service without an account. Guest records are stored only on your device. They are not a backup, are not available on other devices, and may be lost if you clear site data. Importing into a Vault after sign-in is optional and, if your Vault already has rows, requires an explicit choice to append (the Service will not silently overwrite your spreadsheet).
5. No financial, investment, or tax advice
Nothing on or through the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. You should consult qualified professionals licensed in your jurisdiction before making decisions. Past performance indicators (if any) do not predict future results. CapitalMap does not act as your fiduciary, adviser, broker, or agent for transactions.
If any content could be construed as advice, it is unintentional and you agree to treat it as general information only.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse the Service, attempt unauthorised access, or disrupt servers or networks;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service except as allowed by law;
- upload malware or unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- use the Service to provide regulated financial services to others without required licences;
- represent CapitalMap outputs as audited statements, bank confirmations, or official filings;
- violate Google’s terms or any third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate access for suspected violations or risk to the Service.
7. Intellectual property
CapitalMap’s branding, UI, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You retain rights to your Vault content. Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties including Google (sign-in, Sheets, Analytics) and hosting/infrastructure providers. We are not responsible for outages, API changes, quota limits, data loss, or policy changes by third parties. Your relationships with those providers are governed by their terms.
9. Early access / initial phase; service changes; availability
CapitalMap is currently offered in an initial / early-access phase. The Service may be incomplete, experimental, or under active development. You acknowledge and agree that during this phase:
- features may be missing, change without notice, behave unexpectedly, or be withdrawn;
- software defects, calculation errors, sync delays, display inconsistencies, downtime, or data-handling issues may occur;
- figures shown in the interface may temporarily diverge from your Google Spreadsheet Vault or from expected totals until sync or defects are resolved;
- we have no obligation to provide any particular feature, support level, uptime, or remediation timeline while the Service remains in this phase;
- you will not rely on the Service as a sole or definitive record for financial, tax, lending, investment, or legal decisions, and you will verify material information in your Vault or other primary sources.
Your use of the Service during the initial phase is voluntary and at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CapitalMap disclaims liability for loss or damage arising from early-access defects, interruptions, or inaccuracies, subject only to the limitations and caps in these Terms.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without liability. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may occur. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation at any stage of the product lifecycle.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- displayed balances, net worth, allocations, or projections are accurate or current;
- calculations are free from rounding, sync, timezone, or currency-conversion errors;
- the Service will meet your financial, tax, or regulatory requirements;
- defects will be corrected or that the Service is free of harmful components;
- early-access or initial-phase releases will be stable, complete, or free from material errors.
You assume all risk for any reliance on information displayed by the Service, including during the initial / early-access phase described in Section 9.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CapitalMap and its operators, contributors, affiliates, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three (3) months before the claim, or (b) INR 5,000 (or equivalent). If you use a free offering, you agree that your sole remedy is to stop using the Service.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CapitalMap and its operators from and against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your Vault content or data; (b) your use or misuse of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or law; (d) disputes with third parties regarding your financial decisions or Spreadsheet sharing; or (e) your reliance on any figure or display from the Service.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may revoke Google permissions. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if we believe you breached these Terms, create risk, or if required by law or a third-party provider. Upon termination, your licence ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting capitalmapin@zohomail.in.
15. Export and sanctions
You represent that you are not barred from receiving the Service under applicable export control or sanctions laws.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Service and supersede prior understandings on that subject. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation or sale. No third-party beneficiaries are created except as expressly stated.
